Welcome to the Aspire Counseling Office!

While we offer online counseling & therapy services throughout the state of Missouri, Columbia is truly our “home base.” Aspire Counseling was founded in Columbia and the majority of our therapists are located in the Mid Missouri area. Therefore, we offer a counseling space for in person sessions in our Columbia office. As the popularity of online therapy grew, we discussed the pros and cons of continuing to maintain an in person office. And for us, the decision was an easy one. We understand the value of connecting face to face. So, we’ve maintained a physical office and tried to do everything in our power to make it as comfortable for you to visit as possible.

How to get to our office in Columbia, MO

Our counseling office is located at 302 Campus view Dr directly behind the Grand Cru restaurant. If you are coming from downtown or the University of Missouri campus, you will take Providence all the way South until you see Grand Cru on your left. You'll then turn left onto a little side road called Carter Ln. Then take the second Right onto Campus View Dr. We are in the Seven Oaks building across the street from Campus View Apartments and behind the Grand Cru restaurant. Please feel free to park in any of the Visitor parking spaces right outside the building. When you come into the building on the upper level our office is the first you see on the left with a frosted glass door. Please come on in, have a seat and your therapist will come out to greet you at your assigned time. We look forward to seeing you.

A Safe & Comfortable Counseling Office

We believe that the entire process of counseling plays a part in your healing including the physical space you are in when speaking to your therapist. Therefore, our hope is that moment you walk into your office you will feel at peace. We work hard to create a peaceful environment that feels distinctly different than the "real world." You'll notice small touches meant to promote healing, peacefulness and to encourage self care. If you think of anything that would make you even more comfortable in our office, please let us know.  We are always looking for ways to make our space even more inviting and peaceful.

Walk & Talk Therapy

At Aspire Counseling, we believe in the healing power of nature. Furthermore, we know that many people have an easier time opening up when they are walking or “doing” something outside of even the most comfortable counseling office. Therefore, several of our therapists also offer Walk & Talk Therapy as an option. If you’re interested in meeting with your therapist outside, please let our intake team know when you reach out! Depending on what you’re comfortable with (we know you don’t want to run into a friend in the middle of a counseling session!) and what fits into your provider’s schedule you may meet at the MKT trail, Stephen’s Lake Park or even a church where you feel comfortable. You’ll most likely still meet either online or in our office for your first couple of sessions but if you ask, our team can place you with a therapist who offers walk and talk services for future sessions.

Can’t make it to our Columbia, MO office?

While we take great pride in our physical space and always enjoy seeing clients in the office, we understand that many people refer to meet with a therapist online these days. That is why our therapists have invested time and energy into learning how to provide the best possible online counseling services. In fact, more than half of our counseling services are now provided online. We use a secure video platform and make every effort to give you as comfortable of an experience as possible even when you’re attending online therapy or counseling.

If you are going to meet with a therapist online, we encourage you to think about creating a comfortable space for yourself. It’s important that you meet with your therapist from a space that ensures complete privacy. Additionally, you may think of what else may help you feel comfortable. For example, sitting at your desk and looking at a huge pile of work that needs to be done may not help you feel as relaxed as choosing a comfortable place in your living room.

We can meet with you for therapy online as long as you are located anywhere in the state of Missouri.
