Hello! I am Grant Glabe and I strive to help teens and adults struggling with anxiety, OCD or depression navigate their emotions and begin to take steps toward wholeness and healing. I prioritize empathy in my relationship with clients and seek to meet each individual where they are while setting realistic goals for growth. I operate from a bio-psycho-social-spiritual model that aims to facilitate flourishing in body, mind, soul, and spirit.
My counseling specialties:
Anxiety
Depression
General life stressors
My Approach to Therapy
In my work with anxiety, I operate from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)perspective. I provide psychoeducation on the function of anxiety and work with individuals to identify perceived threats, build a tolerance for uncertainty, and engage with life on life’s terms. I support clients as they build on skills learned in therapy so they can incorporate these in their daily lives and experience freedom from fear and worry. For OCD I specifically use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) which is under the CBT umbrella. ERP involves exposing clients to anxiety-provoking thoughts or situations and then preventing the usual compulsive responses to help them gradually reduce their anxiety and improve coping mechanisms. In working with depression, I make space for the difficult emotions this condition presents and help clients process these feelings while providing hope and encouragement along their journey towards wholeness. I also see clients who are just struggling with general stressors of life, including clients transitioning from college to young adulthood. I look forward to being part of your journey toward living the life you want to live.
Fun Facts About Me
I am a mid-Missouri native and love sports, particularly Mizzou football and fall afternoon spent at Faurot Field. I enjoy being near the water and love spending time with family, friends, my church community, and my stubborn Shih tzu, Bingo.
